Cookies we set

When you sign in, we set a session cookie so that you stay signed in, together with the cookies needed to protect the sign-in process against cross-site request forgery. The session cookie cannot be read by scripts in your browser and lasts 30 days from your last visit (12 hours for governor and administrator accounts). We also set citytube_consent, which lasts six months, to remember your cookie choice.

Analytics cookies

Only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last two years each, to count visits and tell returning browsers apart. Declining removes them, and you can change your choice at any time with here or in the footer of every page. Our Privacy Policy explains what is sent to Google.

Storage in your browser

We use your browser’s session storage to remember which videos have already been counted as viewed, so a single view is not counted more than once. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us, and your browser clears it when you close the tab. We also keep a random ID, citytube.consent.anonymous-id, in local storage to record your cookie choice; it is not linked to your account.

Video playback

Videos are embedded through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, which does not set cookies while a video is only displayed. Once you start playing a video, YouTube may set its own cookies. Those cookies are set by YouTube and are covered by Google’s privacy and cookie policies.

Changes

Additional cookies may be introduced as CityTube develops. Where required, users will be able to manage their cookie preferences.
